0361 Bridge measures for talc fine powder

Introducing a case study on the implementation of a blow disk as a countermeasure for talc fine powder bridging!

Regarding the new material, we consulted about bridge measures as we are newly manufacturing the hopper. This is a case where we were contacted because they want to adopt our equipment, as the material is finer than conventional materials and the hopper discharge diameter is also small. For a hopper with a diameter of about 600mm, it is common to install 2 to 3 blow discs (standard type: BD-15), but in this case, in addition to 2 standard types, we installed 2 "blow disc minis" nearby due to the relatively small discharge diameter of 80mm. After installation, we received feedback that "no troubles have occurred at all, and it is operating smoothly." 【Overview】 ■ Hopper diameter: 600mm ■ Hopper discharge diameter: 80mm ■ Material name: Talc ■ Material particle size: D50 of single-digit microns ■ Material apparent specific gravity: approximately 0.3 for loose, 0.5 for compact ■ Material angle of repose: about 40° *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. *Our website features numerous case studies. 0526 Bridge measures for Sic fine powder

An example of lending out the actual Brody Disk Mini and Brody Disk first at the customer's request.

This is an example used by a precision parts manufacturer, where Sic powder bridges at the bottom of the hopper, prompting your inquiry. In the case of a φ600 hopper, it is common to adopt the Brodie Disk instead of the smaller Brodie Disk Mini. However, the air volume for the Brodie Disk is significantly higher compared to the Mini. Since there was a request to minimize the air volume as much as possible, we had the customer check both the Brodie Disk Mini and the Brodie Disk in person, and decided to implement the Brodie Disk Mini, which has a lower air volume. This installation consists of 8 Brodie Disk Minis, and in this case, the air volume is less than that of 2-3 Brodie Disks. 【Usage Conditions Overview】 ■ Hopper Diameter: Approximately φ600 ■ Material: Sic powder (average particle size = several micrometers) ■ Request: To use as little air as possible *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

0655 Bridge measures for micro-sized resin powder.

Resolving blockages near the discharge section! Here is a case where the air ON frequency for the lower four units was increased.

We would like to introduce a case where a dust collector manufacturer has adopted the "Blow Disk." In this case, the manufacturer experienced bridging in the conical section of the dust collector, which made powder discharge difficult. Additionally, depending on the operating conditions of the equipment, a significant amount of material would sometimes accumulate in the cone section, which was also a contributing factor to the problem. In this instance, the frequency of air ON for the lower four out of eight installed Blow Disks has been increased. 【Case Overview】 ■ Model and Quantity: BD-15S-B, 8 units ■ Arrangement: 4 units arranged in 2 tiers ■ Control: The controller C-SV4, which incorporates 4 solenoid valves, sequentially turns ON the air for the 8 Blow Disks in pairs with a time delay. 【Key Points of This Equipment】 ■ The elastic disk (silicone) is very important in terms of strength and durability, especially considering the risk of foreign material contamination. The silicone disks in this equipment are exceptionally strong and durable. Once you use them, you will understand! ■ Control (how to aerate?) is crucial! We provide guidance on what should be done. We also have a dedicated controller available.

0656 Bridge measures for 2-3μm fine powder

Can be used with inert gases such as nitrogen gas or argon gas instead of regular air!

We would like to introduce a case where the "Blow Disk Mini" was implemented as a countermeasure for very fine powder materials. The customer expressed a desire to "minimize the amount of gas used," and initially requested to test with only two Blow Disk Minis installed near the discharge area, which we provided for loan. As this test did not resolve the issue, we added two more Blow Disk Minis above, resulting in a successful outcome. 【Conditions】 ■ Hopper diameter: Ø600 ■ Discharge diameter: 125A ■ Material: Name undisclosed (average particle diameter: 2-3 microns) ■ Gas used: Air not permitted, inert gas used 【Key Points of This Equipment】 ■ The elastic disk (silicone) is very important in terms of strength and durability due to the risk of foreign material contamination. The silicone disk of this equipment is exceptionally strong and durable. Once you use it, you will understand! ■ Control (how to aerate?) is crucial! We provide guidance on what should be done. A dedicated controller is also available.

0657 Measures against bridging of sticky fine powders

Guidance on the arrangement of the Brodisk and its control plan! Introducing a case that resolved the bridging of adhesive fine powder.

We would like to introduce a case where a comprehensive chemical manufacturer adopted the "Brodie Disk." They consulted us because they were experiencing bridging in a sticky fine powder hopper and requested a proposal for the introduction of the Brodie Disk. We sent them a plate set with the Brodie Disk designed to resemble the hopper wall, and the user confirmed the air injection and vibration with the above product, leading to their understanding of the device's overview and the decision to implement it. [Case Overview] ■ Hopper Size: 1000×1200 ■ Outlet Size: 200×200 (the outlet is shifted to one side) ■ Device Placement Overview: One unit on each of the three gently sloped surfaces (each unit is near the discharge area), and three units on one steep slope (one unit near the discharge area and two units above it), for a total of six units installed. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
